Happy July

Hello!

The summer is flying by, isn't it?!!

I can't believe how long it's been since I last posted!  Sorry!  Two weeks ago I wound up getting really sick with that crazy high fever that my kids had {not fun!}...and the worst sore throat of my life...so I was down and out for about a week.

And then last week, Midwest Living Magazine was here for a three day photo shoot of my home and family!!!  It was a lot of work, but a really great experience!  Carol Schalla, Home Editor for Midwest Living, was the absolute nicest person to work with and I really enjoyed spending three days chatting and hanging out with her!

When Midwest Living first contacted me last year about coming to photograph my home, I asked that they not bring in an outside stylist for my shoot and instead allow me to style my own shots...they graciously agreed!  I ordered all of the flowers myself, styled everything, and we did not bring in any outside props...so the end result is that what the readers will view will be a true reflection of me and my style, and that was important to me.  The super talented Kim Cornelison was the photographer for my shoot and wow is she good at what she does!  I am so excited for you to see my home feature in the Jan/Feb 2013 issue of Midwest Living Magazine!

All of the photos in today's post are a peek into the new July issue of Jeanne d' Arc Living Magazine, which is now in stock in the SHOP.

This new issue is filled with wonderful summer recipes, beautiful gardens, and, as always, lovely home tours...all in the Nordic-French style that has made Jeanne d' Arc Living so popular!  And the best part is you get all of this inspiration with no advertisements in the magazine, just great styling and decorating!!

I also wanted to show you a few new pieces of jewelry that my sister put together for the SHOP, using the awesome vintage French pocket watches I brought back from Paris...

...the back of the pocket watch is engraved and so pretty...and the watch opens to reveal the inner workings which are also so very beautiful...

I hope you all have a wonderful 4th of July!!!  We are headed to my friend's pool party :))

Congratulations and I will look forward to seeing your home in print in Midwest Living magazine

I can understand why they agreed and trusted you to create all the settings. Your taste is exquisite, as is your sister's.

How smart of them to recognize your talent and ability for suberb styling. After all...who knows your home better than you?
Deb
P.S. I love seeing a home that is a true reflection of the owner.

Congratulation Tracey!!! And how awesome that you got to style your own home for the shoot, that was a great idea and so important to reflect your true individual style for the magazine.
I know what you mean about getting sick, my little one is really sick and now I've caught it, I just hate that in the summertime!
I hope you have a beautiful day and enjoy the pool party!
Thanks for the beautiful photos from JDL! :)
Sincerely,
Melinda

However, Midwest Living puts out different issues for different areas :( Na Da Farm was not in my issue last fall.

So, I hope it will be on their website!!
How fun for you!!!

Congratulations Tracey...and I love how you wanted to style your own home without any props so that "readers will view a true reflection of you and your style". That's awesome:)

Congratulations! That is so wonderful, what a great honor! I'm originally from South Carolina and have been living in Tennessee for the last 10 years, so I've only seen Southern Living, Midwest Living isn't sold in this area. I hope you will have some available in your store, I would love to get that issue so I can see the inside of your home.

I keep meaning to tell you how GReat it is that you were able to give the true reflection of your home for the shoot. I always enjoy looking at beautiful magazines but feel like it's the stylist representation rather than the person that lives there. Remind us again when it comes out so I can make sure to pick one up (:

Exciting news! I'd not heard of Midwest Living until just last week when a friend phoned to ask me if I subscribed to this magazine. She is gifting me a subscription. Yea! I'll get to enjoy the article on your beautiful home. Can't wait!
